The list of actors joining the cast of Nashville grows with the addition of Christian Coulson to Season 5 of the series. Coulson has been cast in the role of Damien George, a powerful British director who will take charge of the first music video for Sam Palladio and Clare Bowen’s characters, Gunnar Scott and Scarlett O’Connor, respectively.

Coulson’s character is described by Deadline as “confident,” but also “charming and caustic.” Fans may recognize him from the record-breaking Harry Potter series — he played Tom Riddle in the second film, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. He’s also speared on TV shows including The Good Wife, Nurse Jackie and more.

Coulson is just one of several new faces to join the show about Music City. It was recently announced that Joseph David-Jones (Allegiant, Legends of Tomorrow) will portray an eclectic musician named Clay, while Camerone Scoggins has landed the role of Zach Welles, a billionaire and die-hard Rayna Jaymes fan who offers the singer an exciting, yet potentially dangerous proposal. Bridgit Mendler has been tapped to play Ashley Wilkenson, who is listed as an “extremely talented” yet “stubborn” YouTube star about to make her first album.

These new batch of characters join series regulars Connie Britton (Rayna Jaymes), Hayden Panettiere (Juliette Barnes), Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne) and more on the CMT show. In addition to original producers Callie Khouri and Steve Buchanan, Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick of My So-Called Life and Thirtysomething have also come on board as show-runners. Nashville’s fifth season premieres on Jan. 5.
