Before sliding into the debut live performance of a Pistol Annies song called "Got My Name Changed Back," Angaleena Presley promised that the song "has nothing to do with us and is about no one in this group." Listen and decide for yourself.

The rootsy, uptempo, honky-tonker celebrates independence after a marriage goes belly up. "I got me an ex that I adored / But he got along good with a couple road whores," they sing.

And by "they," we mean Miranda Lambert. Nope, nothing to see here, folks ...

Presley, Lambert and Ashley Monroe introduced the song during Lambert's Country Music Hall of Fame residency on Sept. 26. After they wrapped, the "Tin Man" singer asked, "Y'all get it?"

Be right back — gotta go fill our cup up with tea after all this sippin'.

It's worth noting that Presley has also been through a divorce. The song could be pure fiction, but that'd be unusual for a group of songwriters who are skilled at writing songs about the most vulnerable details of their personal lives. Lambert shared her diary on her last solo album, The Weight of These Wings, but didn't do many interviews to explain what inspired every emotional outpouring. At minimum, she and her band mates knew how fans and critics would respond to a song that blatantly calls out a cheating ex. If we're but pawns in their game to bring attention to the new Interstate Gospel album organically, at least it's a really fun, interesting game.

Did You Know?: "When I Was His Wife" is another title on Pistol Annies' new album that promises an exploration of the end of the marriage. Interstate Gospel drops on Nov. 2.

Pistol Annies' "Got My Name Changed Back" Lyrics:

It takes a judge to get married it takes a judge to get divorced / Well the last couple years I spent a lot of time in court / Got my name changed back (yeah, yeah) /  Got my name changed back (yeah, yeah) / Well I wanted something new then I wanted what I had /  Got my name changed back (yeah, yeah).

I got me an ex that I adored / But he got along good with a couple road whores /  Got my name changed back (yeah, yeah) /  Got my name changed back (yeah, yeah) / I don't wanna be a Mrs. on paper no more /  Got my name changed back (yeah, yeah).

I done let a man get the best of me / Spend an afternoon at the DMV / Got my name changed back (yeah, yeah) / Got my name changed back (yeah, yeah) /  Now who I was ain't who I'l be / Got my name changed back (yeah, yeah).

How to win when you're played the fool / That's something they don't teach you in school / I played to win, looking back it's funny / I broke his heart and I took his money.
