For as much fun as Randy Travis seemed to be having right after last weekend's Super Bowl, one can only imagine this week has been nothing short of miserable for the country star who was arrested early Monday morning for public intoxication. Now, according to a police report obtained by TMZ, more news has hit the scene (and the fan) relating to Travis' case. It seems he was drunk in his car in front of a Baptist church in Sanger, Texas, because he had just been in a fight with his girlfriend.

According to the police report, the officer who arrested Travis says the singer tried explain something about a fight with his girlfriend but couldn't quite get it out. "Mr. Travis' speech was slurred and I was beginning to have a hard time understanding what he was saying," the officer wrote in the report.

This all happened at 1:30AM Monday morning, just after the Super Bowl festivities drew to a close. As we previously reported, someone called in a suspicious vehicle to the Sanger Police Department, who arrived on the scene to find Travis in his car with an open bottle of wine and smelling strongly of alcohol. Because of his compromised condition, authorities arrested the seven-time Grammy winner on the spot and held him in a county jail for six hours until he was sober enough to leave.

Travis left with a Class C misdemeanor and was free to go home to his Tioga, Texas ranch. This is unfortunately not the first brush with alcohol abuse Travis has had in his very public life. Regarding his actions, Travis released an official apology Monday afternoon to the Associated Press, assuring the public that he will be "responsible and accountable" in the future.

This year marks 25 years of Travis being a recording artist, and to commemorate that occasion, he's launching into his 25th Anniversary Celebration Tour this month.
