Singer Sarah Darling has announced she is engaged to marry her boyfriend James. The two are still enjoying the glow of a romantic vacation and proposal, and haven't dug deep into wedding planning quite yet, but the 'Home to Me' singer revealed she's thinking May 2014 for the ceremony.

The guy is British graphic design executive James Muriel, whom Darling has been dating for over a year. She tells the Boot that they met years ago through his father Andrew, who is an aspiring songwriter who had been traveling to Nashville. "When we ended up deciding to date, we went to Paris together," she says. "After that trip, I knew this was the guy I wanted to be with forever."

Distance tested their relationship, but Skype kept them close despite the time difference between Nashville and London. Fans of the singer don't have to worry -- she's not moving overseas for her man. He's coming to America to support her.

Darling and Muriel were in Key West, Fla. over the weekend when he popped the question on the beach. She says she had hints that it was coming, but was still surprised. As for the wedding, expect something outdoors and beautiful.

"Almost like a Southern wedding with long wooden tables, a garden and lights hung," Darling explains to the Boot. "But I'm definitely not one of those girls who freaks out or has to have it all a certain way."

Look for the singer -- and maybe her new fiancé -- on tour with Scotty McCreery this spring. They have dates scheduled together through May 12.
