Scotty McCreery graced the stage of 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' on the June 15 episode. He of course performed his smash hit 'I Love You This Big,' a song that is steadily becoming synonymous with the 'American Idol' winner. Wearing a denim button down shirt and jeans, McCreery, 17, was accompanied by a trio of female background singers, who helped fill out the song.

Every time McCreery raised his eyebrows or spread his arms in a wingspan as he sang the "this big" part of the lyrics, the female contingent of the audience erupted in a chorus of screams and cheers. It was a mellow performance and McCreery has undoubtedly made the song his own at this point. Having lived with (and performed) the song during his high-octane, never-slow-down-for-a-break 'American Idol' media blitz, McCreery has bonded fully with the song. We're happy to hear him sing a song that is truly his, as opposed to covers chosen for him by judges, mentors or fellow country singers.

Post-performance, Jay Leno greeted McCreery and called him "denim-on-denim Scotty," since couch guest Blake Lively had said earlier on the show that a dual denim outfit is a faux pas, unless you are Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake circa 2001.

Fashion foible aside, McCreery turned in another fine, fine performance. Only this time, it was on the bigger stage of late night TV. Come to think of it, he looked just fine in his country uniform of jeans and a button down!
