Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina are a match made in music heaven. Not only did they trek through 'American Idol' together and go on to become winner and runner-up, but they've maintained a similar path when releasing their first singles, and soon, their debut albums. Of anyone, McCreery would likely be the least surprised if the pair ended up together -- and married -- despite how much he denies being in a relationship with Alaina.

If you missed last Sunday night's 'CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock' special, where McCreery performed a duet with Josh Turner, then you probably missed the 'I Love You This Big' singer's revelation about his inevitable fate. In a behind-the-scenes clip, which shows the 'AI' pair exploring Nashville and soaking in the sights as stars for the first time, McCreery joked that he will marry Lauren Alaina in 2022.

Following one of many radio interviews, Alaina confronts the 'Idol' winner about something she overheard him say. "Did you tell someone we were getting married in 11 years?" she asks McCreery, who looks at her with a poker face and says simply, "Mmmhmm."

So, a yes then? Though it's not traditional for the girl to ask the guy for his hand in marriage, we're excited that Alaina flat out asked McCreery whether he'd told somebody the pair's future plans -- essentially asking him whether or not he was going to marry her in a decade or so. Sure, he was joking about the outcome (maybe), but like we 'Idol' fans have been saying all along, McCreery and Alaina are just meant to be ... And they both know it!
