Wednesday night (Jan. 18), Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles and pop singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles called it a girls night and headed out on the town in New York City to hit an off-Broadway production of the Tony Award winning musical 'Avenue Q.'

Using puppets and real actors in the same show, 'Avenue Q' is a musical comedy about a group of starry-eyed young college grads who move to New York City to pursue their dreamsm even when their budgets don't fully allow. In 2004, the show won the Tony Triple Crown for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book.

When they're not catching off-Broadway shows, Nettles and 'The Sing-Off' judge are busy with their own award-winning careers. Bareilles was just featured on Jon McLaughlin's new single 'Summer Is Over,' and Sugarland recently announced their partnership with Patagonia Music Collective to raise money for environmental non-profits across the globe.
