Lonestar celebrate 20 years of music in 2012. Of course, Richie McDonald stepped aside to pursue a solo career for four of those years, but the accomplishment is still noteworthy. Their new song 'The Countdown' reminds fans how how sharp the group is musically and how tight they are vocally.

Multi-platinum country group Lonestar recently reunited for a 20th anniversary tour, and the band has announced the upcoming release of a new single, 'The Countdown,' as well as a new album from their classic lineup to go along with it.

Very few country songs enjoyed the chart success of Song No. 34 on the Top 100 Country Songs list. Lonestar's 'Amazed' set a record with eight weeks on the country singles chart. It then achieved an increasingly rare feat of topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart in March of 2000.

Trying to calm her nerves on tonight's episode of 'American Idol,' Krum, Texas native Baylie Brown sat center stage on a stool in a slinky red dress with her blond ringlets perfectly coiffed. Though she looked like as much like a Miss America contestant as an 'American Idol' hopeful, Brown had a difficult time harnessing her voice for her rendition of Lonestar's 'Amazed.'

While there's no bonafide country singer on 'X Factor' like there was on 'American Idol' last season – you may have heard of the winner, this kid Scotty McCreery -- that doesn't mean that country isn't being properly represented on the reality talent competition. On tonight's episode, 59-year-old singer Leroy Bell, who is a member of the show's 'Over 30s' category, offered up his take on Lonestar'

Good news for Lonestar fans. Next year, the band's original lead singer, Richie McDonald, will return to the group -- best know for hits 'Amazed'  and 'I'm Already There' -- to mark 20 years of making music together. In addition to a tour to commemorate their anniversary, Lonestar will also release a brand-new album with vocals by McDonald.

Lonestar will join the celebration for what would have been President Ronald Reagan’s 100th birthday during the first weekend in February. The festivities also include live performances by Lee Greenwood, the Beach Boys, the Jonas Brothers, Amy Grant and more at the Concert for America – A Tribute to Ronald Reagan on Feb. 5.

Lonestar recently performed live in the studio at WYCD, popping off renditions of the unforgettable 'What About Now' and the achingly beautiful 'Making Memories.' During a live, in-between-song chat, the band also recalled their 'Price is Right' experience, where they performed and joked that vocalist-guitarist Cody Collins was the prize for some lucky Showcase Showdown contestant.
