After much talk around beginning to write for her fifth album, Taylor Swift is finally making some headway. The blonde starlet is back in the studio writing some songs for her highly anticipated next album.

The 'Red' singer took to her Twitter account to tell her 36 million followers the good news on Tuesday (Oct. 29):

She also took the time to thank all of her fans for her 2013 American Music Awards nominations. Swift is nominated for Favorite Female Artist Pop/Rock, Favorite Album Pop/Rock, Favorite Female Artist Country, Favorite Album Country and Artist of the Year. The awards take place on Nov. 24.

The AMAs aren't the only thing Swift is nominated for. The 2013 American Country Awards have also given her some nods -- the most of any other artist, in fact. She's up for Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year: Female, Single of the Year: Female, Single of the Year: Vocal Collaboration, Touring Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year. These awards take place on Dec. 10.

The 23-year-old is continuing to push herself and her musical boundaries as she steps into the mind of her new album, for which she's trying a new direction.

"I think the goal for the next album is to continue to change, and never change in the same way twice," she tells the Associated Press (quote via MTV). "How do I write these figurative diary entries in ways that I've never written them before and to a sonic backdrop that I've never explored before? It's my fifth album, which is crazy to think about, but I think what I'm noticing about it so far is it's definitely taking a different turn than anything I've done before."

Swift says it's a little too early to tell who we could expect to see co-writing with her on this next album, but she did share that two of her last collaborators were a complete "dream." Max Martin and Shellback assisted the singer on 'Red,' and she speaks very fondly of the them.

"I've never just been so excited to show up to the studio every day, just because you never know what we're going to put together," Swift reveals.

For now, if you need your Taylor Swift fix, you can check out 'Sweeter Than Fiction' from the upcoming movie, 'One Chance.'
