The Civil Wars Postpone Tour Dates Due to ‘Serious Illness’
The Civil Wars have postponed a handful of tour dates overseas starting March 26 due to a serious illness within the band's family.
The Civil Wars' Joy Williams and John Paul White delivered the disappointing news to their European fans Friday morning (March 16) through their official Facebook page, writing: "Due to a serious illness in the band's immediate family, the Civil Wars' spring tour dates from March 26th in Koln through April 4th in Istanbul are postponed. We are extremely sorry for this inconvenience."
The European tour would have been the first time the duo had performed overseas with scheduled stops in Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Turkey. No further details were given as far as who is ill, but we all send our well wishes for a speedy recovery.
The duo recently picked up two Grammy awards last month and are currently creating quite a buzz in regards to their collaboration with Taylor Swift on 'Safe and Sound,' a song the three penned together as well as their involvement with 'The Hunger Games.'
Check back with Taste of Country for any further updates about the Civil Wars and the rescheduled dates, which are supposed to be revealed sometime next week.
