Thomas Rhett's music video for "Marry Me" mirrors the song right up to the final seconds when the just-released clip deviates.

"Marry Me" is Rhett's third single from the Life Changes album and his saddest single to date. The ballad tells the story of a man who never told a woman how he feels, despite knowing her since they were young. In the song she gets married to someone else and he drinks his pain away.

That's not quite what happens during the video, but you'll need to watch to the very end to see the tear-inducing twist. TK McKamy directed a video that was filmed in both Nashville and Birmingham, Ala. The singer admits that while he co-wrote "Marry Me" the song is not his and wife Lauren's story, although it could have been.

"If I had never told Lauren how I felt about her, I probably would have been at her wedding watching her marry someone else," he says. "So, I wanted to capture that feeling of heartbreak in this video — and this really hits me in the gut." Thomas and Lauren were childhood friends that only became romantically involved after high school. They now have two kids together.

After a busy year Rhett is taking the holidays off while preparing for a busy 2018. He'll be a part of Kenny Chesney's tour next year, and headline his own Life Changes Tour starting in April. Brett Young and Midland will join him for a set of dates in April, May, September and October.
