When you're Tim McGraw, daddy-daughter dates are a little more extravagant than dinner and a movie. The singer decided to bring his second daughter, Maggie, to the American Music Awards Nov. 20, posting an adorable photo of the two on Facebook on the way to the show.

The two are all dolled up in the photo — a selfie taken by Maggie in the car — and the proud dad beams at the camera from behind his daughter, front and (slightly off) center. Maggie recently went off to college, which McGraw and wife Faith Hill admitted was tough for them, but it’s clear they still make family time a priority. Maggie follows her older sister Gracie, who also went off to college recently — the reason why McGraw could barely get through a take recording “Humble and Kind” without crying, he said.

The poignant song was not only meaningful for McGraw personally, but resonated with audiences around the country. Written by Lori McKenna, it was a major hit for the artist from his record Damn Country Music and took home the award for Favorite Country Song at the AMAs. The tune was also nominated for Song of the Year and Single of the Year at the CMAs Nov. 2. (McKenna took home the trophy for Song of the Year as the writer.)

McGraw is soaking up the time with family before he and Hill go on tour together next year. The Soul2Soul World Tour kicks off in April, but to be stage-ready, Hill had to have foot surgery. McGraw used the time at home to take care of her, making her chicken and dumplings while she read a magazine. The couple recently celebrated their 20-year anniversary, and judging by the way they make family a priority, they’re on track for a solid 20 more (at least).
