Fans are getting their first taste of a country newcomer the industry has been buzzing about for months now that Brandon Lay has dropped a digital two-pack called Speakers.

The two-song mini-EP is available on streaming services and digital retailers. Find "Let It" and his soon-to-be-released debut single "Speakers, Bleachers and Preachers." The latter is a song Lay has been excited about for awhile, initially telling Taste of Country about it earlier this year during his RISERS interview.

"Long nights and glory days / Between the Alpines and old King James," Lay sings to begin the chorus. "The faster the car the more money you burn / You laugh, you love, you live / There's a lot to learn from speakers and bleachers and preachers / The story of my youth."

While Lay was a tireless touring artist for several years before signing with UMG Nashville, most heard about him for the first time when he was selected as one of seven Taste of Country RISERS, new country artists to watch in 2017. Check out another of his original songs called "Back on the Wagon" below.

In many ways "Speakers, Bleachers and Preachers" is Lay's story. The singer was born just east of Memphis and grew up in a Preacher's home. Church hymns, Elvis Presley and (later) '90s country music influenced him heavily, but he also dabbled in rock and hip-hop. Both songs on the new Speakers two-pack fall squarely in the country genre, however. Check out more from Lay by watching his RISERS interview below.
