Vince Gill's unearthly, beautiful tenor lifted 'Look at Us' to No. 4 on the country charts in September of 1991, and the song's romantic, haunting arrangement helped it take Song of the Year at the 1992 CMAs. It lands at No. 51 in our Top 100 Country Love Songs countdown.

The musician wrote the song for his wife, Janis, to celebrate their long-lived marriage of opposites. "When they wanna see how true love should be/They'll just look at us," the lyric assures. Ironically, the song's appeal is so timeless that it outlasted the marriage it was written to commemorate, which ended in June of 1998. Gill married contemporary Christian artist Amy Grant on March 10, 2000.
