Willie Jones is just leaving all of his cares behind in his new video for "Windows Down," and he's showing it to Taste of Country readers first.

The premise of the video is simple and sweet, as Jones and his love hit the road in a classic Chevrolet to get away from all of the stress of everyday life. That premise tracks closely with the song's lyrics, which propose, "Let me pick you up, let's ride in my Chevy / Lighten the mood 'cause it's been a little heavy / Turn the music up and ride with the windows down / Let's go to that spot where we used to kick it / Let's skip town, get the hell up out the city / Turn the music up and ride with the windows down."

The feel-good track is a seamless mix of acoustic country influences juxtaposed with a loping, contemporary pop beat that really helps recreate the happy vibe of a road trip. It's all topped off by a soulful vocal performance from Jones to create a sound all his own.

“When you listen to 'Windows Down,' you can’t help but want to hit the road," Jones tells us. "It’s pretty much about getting away from all the worries of this world, and who wouldn't want to do that? Sometimes all you need is your car and your girl and life is all good.”

The 24-year-old Louisiana native first came to public attention during a stint on the X Factor at the age of 17, where one of his goals was to break new ground for the representation of African Americans in country music. Most lately, Jones has been writing and recording in Nashville and touring; he recently hit the road on the Magcon Tour with Cameron Dallas. He has also released an acoustic mixtape, Road Waves, to hold fans over while he continues to work on his full-length debut album.

Road Waves is currently available for streaming and download across all major digital services.
