The 2014 Grammy Awards are about to get countrified! Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton are teaming up for a star-studded performance, making the evening an iconic show of country pride.

It's not a coincidence that these four stars are playing together; Ken Ehrlich, producer of the Grammys, wanted to get involved in relief efforts after Oklahoma and Texas were twisted by twisters in May. And, the country stars all have roots in those states. Ehrlich tells CMT that the collaboration was "just too good to pass up."

Plus, it's a fantastic way to pay homage to the foursome. Kristofferson will be presented with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award the evening before the Jan. 26 awards. That follows the induction of his 1970 album 'Kristofferson' into into the Grammy Hall of Fame this year. What a year for celebration!

This helped shaped Ehrlich's vision, and he says, "I started to think about what we could do to honor them as the artists that they are and what they've accomplished over their lives. And at the same time, not necessarily forget about this Oklahoma/Texas idea."

"Musically, this will honor Willie and Kris' music, it will honor probably Merle's most famous song and then it's going to end with the four of them together. I won't say it's not predictable, but it will be classic," details the producer.

Looking at all their accomplishments, the artists will represent quite a few Grammys. Haggard (who will make his Grammy Awards performing debut) has two, Kristofferson's Grammy wins include a 1971 trophy for 'Help Me Make It Through the Night' and duets with Rita Coolidge, 'From the Bottle to the Bottom' and 'Lover Please.' Nelson has garnered a number of these the envied awards -- seven to be exact -- between 1975 and 2007.

Although Shelton has not yet won a Grammy, he's nominated twice for Best Country Solo Performance ('Mine Would Be You') and Best Country Album for 'Based on a True Story' in 2014.

The 2014 Grammy Awards air live on CBS at 8PM ET on Jan. 26.
