Blake Shelton got a glimmer of good news yesterday after a heavy week. His father, Dick Shelton, who was taken to the hospital for pneumonia on Dec. 5, could be released as soon as Friday. The 'God Gave Me You' hitmaker breathed a virtual sigh of relief when he announced the potential news to his Twitter followers, saying, "Thank you all for the prayers for my dad... Hoping he gets to go home Friday."

Shelton, who is known for being country music's class clown, was noticeably distraught at Monday's 2011 American Country Awards, and even dedicated his Music Video of the Year and Music Video of the Year by a Male Artist wins to his father. "I want to say hi to my dad back home. He’s been having a pretty rough couple of weeks, and I know he’s watching tonight,” Shelton said while looking directly into the camera. "I love you, Dad, and I dedicate this to you, man. Thank you."

According to Country Weekly, Shelton flew home to be with his dad as soon as the awards show in Vegas ended. We're thinking of you, Blake, and wish Mr. Shelton a speedy recovery!
