Country music took centerstage on Tuesday night's (March 28) episode of The Voice when Team Adam Levine's Taylor Alexander and Jesse Larson entered the Battles with Garth Brooks' "Shameless."

Guitars in hand, Alexander and Larson fully delivered on their duet, with Alexander showing off his classic country voice, sounding almost like Brooks himself. Alexander had the opportunity to showcase his smooth vocals, exhibiting his wide vocal range, with both guys offering up competing high notes at the end. Resident country expert Blake Shelton commended Alexander for stepping up to the plate and Larson for rising to the occasion, while coach Alicia Keys says Larson creates "a world all its own" with his unique voice. Gwen Stefani also offered positive comments, saying both singers are their own "characters," adding that Larson could "blow the whole roof off" with his voice.

Prior to the performance, Levine and guest mentor John Legend offered the guys some sound advice, encouraging them to try and marry their harmonies, with Levine saying he selected the song with the intention of doing just that, as Brooks' version allows both singers to show off their voices. Originally a Billy Joel song, Brooks took the song to new heights with his rendition, which topped the country charts in 1991.

Coach Adam admitted that Alexander "impressed" him with his individuality while praising Larson's "gifted" voice, adding that music naturally flows out of him. Though a tough decision, Levine ultimately declared Larson as winner of the battle, sadly sending Alexander packing.

The Voice airs every Monday and Tuesday night at 8PM ET on NBC.
