Luke Bryan is back in his most familiar lane with his latest single, "Move."

The country superstar recently reached No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart with "Huntin', Fishin', and Lovin' Every Day," which was reminiscent of a classic Alabama track. The fifth single from his Kill the Lights album, "Move" brings him back to the uptempo contemporary country sound that has helped Bryan become one of the biggest names in country music over the last few years.

Bryan co-wrote "Move" with Michael Carter and Jay Clementi, and the song doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is: a fun, rollicking good time that's an unashamed celebration of a sexy girl. The premise of the song is that a young Northern girl with “a rockin’ little body” moves to the South, where she falls in with some Southern belles and becomes even hotter. The narrator of the song is so smitten with her that "I can't move when you move," as Bryan sings in the chorus.

Musically, "Move" is uptempo and shot through with very contemporary production elements, and it's a perfect song to carry Bryan and Kill the Lights through the rest of the summer and into the fall. It's easy to picture fans throwing their hands in the air in dance halls and arenas all around the country, which is exactly what Bryan and his co-writers must have intended. So while "Move" is probably not destined to become a standout career single for Bryan, nor does it pretend to be rocket science, it's a pleasant enough diversion for country fans who are simply looking for a good time.

40 Reason we Love Luke Bryan

Luke Bryan, "Move" Lyrics:

"Your mama packed y'all up and moved you to the South / Backed a U-Haul cross a one-tree yard / To a tin roof shotgun house / You didn't know nobody, didn't talk too much / Had a rockin' little body with a Yankee strut / A little shy side, a little wild side / With your long blonde hair all pulled up / Then you got in with some southern belles / Cut your jeans off with a rebel yell / Learned the talk of the Bible belt / Now, girl, I melt when you ..."

Chorus:

"M-O-V-E, I love it / Yeah, I love it when you get that beat / Boots on, stomp your feet / It's like you've been waiting all week to /  Move like you do / All sexy and smooth / Like you love to / Oh, girl, look at you / Legs and your hips / Live oak, moonlit / When that song hits / Damn, you turn it loose / Stars of a Southern sky / Buzz of the fire and ice / DJ plays that throwback tune / But I can't move when you move."

"It's like there's something in the air / That turns you wild when a country song / Is way up loud and the sun goes down / Right about then, you lock eyes on me / You got me where you want me, where I wanna be / All up in the middle of your left and right / Your side to side, yeah, you're right on time when you ..."

Repeat Chorus

"Let me talk to you / M-O-V-E / I love the way you, love the way you feel the beat / C-O-M-E / Come on, I wanna see you..."

Repeat Chorus
