Maddie & Tae’s second single is another bold statement, but ‘Fly’ couldn’t be more different from ‘Girl in a Country Song.’

The chart-topping duo’s latest is a meaningful ballad that showcases their full, unique harmonies. Both sing throughout the song, never separating for more than a breath. Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye are truly one on this song, the second from their debut EP, released last fall.

So keep on climbing, though the ground might shake / Just keep on reaching though the limb might break / We’ve come this far, don’t you be scared now / Cause you can learn to fly on the way down,” they sing during the chorus of ‘Fly.’

The first verse seems to be painting a specific picture, but it’s not elaborated upon much during the vocals that follow. Instead the interpretation is left open-ended for one to apply as he or she wishes.

Baby blues staring in the window pane / Just counting drops of rain / Wondering if she’s got the guts to take it / Running down her dreams in a dirty dress / Now her heart’s a mess / Praying she will find a way to make it,” Maddie & Tae sing to begin this acoustic, bluegrass-tinged inspirational.

After making a strong statement with ‘Girl in a Country Song’ M&T back off without backing down. The duo;s fans can breathe a sigh of relief, it seems. There’s much more to them than one rebellious, but necessary, smack to the face.

Why Fans Will Love It: Maddie & Tae bring back a sound radio has been missing since March 10, 2003.
