A new year brings a new song to the top of the monthly Taste of Country Top 40 rankings. January 2015 begins with a woman in front of her male contemporaries -- that makes two months in a row that a female has finished first! It's difficult to deny the power of this No. 1 song, or the power of the vocalist behind it.

Tim McGraw will begin January with the No.1 song on Billboard's Airplay chart, but slips to No. 2 on this Top 40 list. That's up one spot from December. Florida Georgia Line's 'Sun Daze' makes a big leap (No. 6 to No. 3), but the biggest jumpers are two male solo vocalists. Blake Shelton's 'Lonely Tonight' is at No. 4 (up from No. 28 in December, thanks to strong sales) and Sam Hunt, who launches to No. 12 from No. 40 in December.
