The Showdown: Scotty McCreery vs. Carrie Underwood

Scotty McCreery has easily won his fourth straight Showdown and will compete for the Hall of Fame today and over the weekend. But it's far from over — the young star will face incredible competition from Carrie Underwood.

McCreery's new single, "Southern Belle," features a very adventurous new sound for the former American Idol champion, and his fans have completely embraced his new approach, turning out to vote in huge victories again and again.

Underwood's just-released "Smoke Break" is the first taste we've had of her forthcoming Storyteller album, and it's a step in a different direction, too, laying off the big message songs for a blue-collar anthem about how sometimes you just need a break from everything life throws at you. This Showdown could be anyone's for the taking, but only one of these songs can move on.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour online. If a song wins five Showdowns in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
