Taylor Swift Samples New Song ‘Begin Again’ on ‘Good Morning America’
Since announcing the release date of her new album, Taylor Swift hasn't slowed down for a minute. In addition to making time for her boyfriend Conor Kennedy, Swift has been working her tail off to promote 'Red,' which is out Oct. 22. On Monday morning, Swift stopped by 'Good Morning America' to preview 'Begin Again,' a new song which will appear on the album.
When the 22-year-old superstar unveiled the first single from the album, 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,' a few weeks ago, diehard country fans worried that the more-pop-than-country song was an indicator that Swift might be straying from her country roots. That doesn't seem to be the case, as 'Begin Again' has that familiar twang that her fans were first introduced to with 'Tim McGraw.'
"It's actually a song about kind of when you've gotten through a really bad relationship and you finally dust yourself off and go on that first day after a horrible breakup and the vulnerability that goes along with all of that," Swift shared about the song when she premiered the teaser.
Sticking to the album's theme of love and loss, 'Begin Again' has Swift comparing her new beau to an old boyfriend. Lyrics like, "I think it's strange that you think I'm funny, 'cause he never did" show that even mega-famous country stars experience vulnerability in relationships.
The latest sampling from 'Red' will be available in its entirety on iTunes first thing Tuesday. A new track from the album will follow weekly leading up to the release of the record in October.
