Taylor Swift Premieres ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ on ‘Good Morning America’
Taylor Swift premiered yet another track from her upcoming 'Red' album on 'Good Morning America' on Monday (Oct. 8), and according to the singer, 'I Knew You Were Trouble' is one of her personal favorites from the record.
"It's a song that is one of my favorite songs on the album, because it sounds just as chaotic as the feeling was when I wrote it," Swift said via video as she previewed the song on the morning show. "It's a song about kind of being frustrated with yourself because here you are heartbroken and you knew when you first saw that person, you saw all these red flags and you just went for it anyway, so shame on me."
Though Swift has a steady history of spinning broken relationships into musical gold by boldly criticizing cheating, wayward men, it seems she turns the criticism on herself this time around. "I knew you were trouble when you walked in / So shame on me now / You flew me to places I've never been / Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground," Swift sings in the short audio sample of 'I Knew You Were Trouble.'
Last week, Swift released the the title track to her upcoming fourth album 'Red' on iTunes after previewing the song on 'GMA.' On Tuesday (Oct. 9), 'I Knew You Were Trouble' will also be available for purchase in full on the downloading site. The 'Red' album, which boasts 16 tracks written by the superstar (the deluxe edition will feature three additional songs plus the demo versions of 'Treacherous' and 'Red'), hits shelves on Oct. 22.
