Thomas Rhett just earned his third hit single in a row! Less than a week after his ACM New Artist of the Year nomination, Rhett has claimed his third consecutive No. 1 song with "Make Me Wanna."

"Make Me Wanna" is Rhett's third single off his debut album, It Goes Like This, to hit the top spot on the Country Airplay chart. And it's the first single to reach No. 1 on which Rhett has songwriting credits. Last year, the country newcomer earned top honors with "It Goes Like This" and "Get Me Some of That."

"Make Me Wanna" is a relatively new sound for Rhett, adding a layer of funk to his popular country music resume. It's rooted in smooth jazz, and Rhett even plays up its Bee Gees-esque vibe in the track's music video. While it may seem like a bit of a risk for a relative newcomer to try something new, the song's success proves that when Rhett risks, he wins big.

"The song is the perfect bridge between "It Goes Like This" and the new stuff we've been working on," says the singer, "so, this kind of support from country radio, my friends in the industry and the fans who have been relentlessly supporting me has got me really pumped for what’s next!"

And "what's next" for Rhett is pretty awesome. In March, he'll head out on the road with Brantley Gilbert for his Let It Ride tour and he's up for New Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards on April 19. Fans can vote for the "Make Me Wanna" singer right up until the show on the Vote ACM website. We bet that an ACM Award would certainly be a welcome addition to Rhett's No. 1 hits!
