Blake Shelton was called out to take the Ice Bucket Challenge, and he stepped up, taking fellow 'The Voice' stars Carson Daly and Adam Levine with him.

In a video posted by 'The Voice,' Shelton is joined by host Daly to fulfill their portion of the challenge. The country singer, however, isn't exactly dressed for the occasion, wearing a red and white button-down with his jeans.

"Hey everybody, I'm Blake Shelton," he starts, as Daly adds, "we both have been challenged in the ice bucket challenge for a great cause for ALS."

Shelton was challenged by "freaking Hoda," while Daly was called out by "the great Natalie Morales."

Since the two were both on set of the reality singing competition, they decided to do the challenge together, even though as Shelton points out, "it's nighttime!"

"This is making me so happy," Shelton says as he brings the bucket above the host's head. "Hold your dentures in." The singer then slings the bucket back and dumps it all over Daly, missing the host's hair and face.

"I've never hated two people more in my whole life," Shelton says as he sits in the hot (well ... cold) seat.

"Hoda, this one's for you," Daly adds, as he drenches Shelton with freezing cold water. Shelton screams as it hits his body, then passes the challenge on to some famous friends -- Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams and Adam Levine. Unlucky for Adam, he was a little too close to the call-out, and had to go ahead with his challenge -- ready for not.

"We're also going to give some money to ALS, too, I want to point out," Daly mentions at the end of the video.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis affects the brain’s nerves and the spinal cord. It’s a disease that leads to death, which is why Major League Baseball and the ALS Association are teaming up to “strike out” the disease. Luke Bryan has also taken the challenge -- among others -- to raise awareness for the disease.
