Billy Currington

Billy Currington is one of the most distinctive male vocalists in contemporary country music, and he has quietly put together a long string of hit songs that makes him one of the top-charting country artists of the last several decades. The Georgia native moved to Nashville after high school to pursue country music, but was initially unsuccessful. He worked odd jobs and sang demos before scoring success as a songwriter, earning cuts from George Strait, Tracy Byrd and Marty Raybon. Currington released his self-titled debut album in 2003 and had a Top 10 hit with his debut single, "Walk a Little Straighter," which was inspired by his difficult relationship with his alcoholic stepfather. Currington scored his first No. 1 hit with "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right" in 2005, and has gone on to place nine total No. 1 hits, including "Good Directions," "People Are Crazy" and "That's How Country Boys Roll." He released his most recent album, 'Summer Forever,' in 2015.

The lyrics behind Billy Currington's latest hit on the rise, 'Like My Dog,' stemmed from two friends watching their dogs play. Watching their furry friends got the song's two writers -- Scotty Emerick and the late Harley Allen -- thinking about of what life would be like if women loved their men like they love their dogs.

Billy Currington deserves more credit. The Savannah, Ga. born singer keeps releasing the country music equivalent of dimples. His songs -- including the newly released 'Like My Dog' -- are cute and a little superficial, but impossible to ignore or not fall in love with. Even if you hate dimples it's not because you hate dimples. It's because you're jealous of the person with dimples.
