Frankie Ballard is having the time of his life on tour with Darius Rucker. The newcomer helped the former Hootie and the Blowfish lead singer kick off the run earlier this month along with Rodney Atkins, and he'll keep playing alongside the pair through the end of the month.

When asked how things on the road with Rucker are going so far, Ballard joked that he can see the future -- and that he believes Mr. Rucker may see some real success some time soon, if he plays his cards right. "The Darius tour has started, and I say with confidence, that guy might have a future in the music biz!” he said, poking fun. “But seriously, it’s been unreal! I'm having so much fun out here, the crowds are partyin' and so am I! I'm trying hard to soak it up while I can!”

All kidding aside, it seems that the shaggy-haired 28-year-old singer may truly look up to the 'Come Back Song' icon. Recently in Nashville, before jumping on the tour bus, Ballard grabbed his guitar and decided to pay tribute to his tour buddy with a mash-up of his own song, 'Single Again,' and the Hootie classic, 'Only Wanna Be With You' -- and the outcome is sheer country bliss.

If you haven't yet, be sure to catch one of Ballard's upcoming shows with Rucker. See the remaining dates here, and if you happen to be near Cincinnati, Ohio, you can enter to win a pair of tickets to that concert by filling out the contest form below the video.
