Jelly Roll’s Wife Bunnie Xo Shares a Scary Health Update
Jelly Roll's wife, Bunnie Xo, is opening up about a recent health scare. On a video posted to Facebook on Saturday (July 27), she detailed the ups and downs she's been going through this spring and summer, which eventually led to a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedure and a consultation with a neurologist.
Thankfully, Bunnie is okay now -- but she says she felt like she was "living a nightmare" while going through the experience.
It all started with some "really weird headaches" back in March, which prompted her to visit her doctor and schedule an MRI for earlier this month.
"When I got the test results back, they said that they spotted an aneurysm on my carotid artery," Bunnie explains. According to the Cleveland Clinic, carotid arteries are major blood vessels located on either side of a person's neck, which are responsible to the blood flow to the brain.
"And I needed to go in for a CT scan with contrast to rule it out," she continues. "Anybody that knows me knows that having an aneurysm is one of my biggest fears because my mom had one and it actually ruptured, but she lived."
Bunnie went in for the scan, and the test results confirmed a "two millimeter aneurysm" on her artery. "So the past four days, it literally felt like I kind of had a death sentence," she says. "You have to kind of come to grips with your own mortality, and that's never a fun experience to go through, ever."
But her health journey did reveal some good news. Not only is a two millimeter aneurysm "extremely small," Bunnie says, but she also got a different opinion when she went in for her first visit with a neurosurgeon. "He told me that he does not think that it is an aneurysm," she relates.
"He also thinks that in six months, whenever I come back to retest and do another CT scan, that he will be able to prove that it is an artifact. His words were, 'I don't even know why the radiologist sent you in for this,'" she goes on to say.
"Praise Jesus that I got that cleared," Bunnie concludes. "I am gonna go in and get a second opinion on Tuesday."
Fans that have been following Bunnie's journey know that her family has dealt with some tough health blows over the past few years. The singer's wife documented her dad's journey with Stage IV cancer, which ultimately ended in his death in May.
The country star couple have happier reasons to go to the doctor, too: They're currently trying to have a baby via in vitro fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy.
