Sam Hunt — along with rapper Big Sean and Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale — presented the Hyundai and the Recording Academy Grammy Amplifier Program award to three lucky artists on Feb. 22, including Adley Stump, a member of Blake Shelton’s team on Season 2 of The Voice.

Stump, as well as rock band American Bombshell and R&B artist Kirby Maurier, will receive one of three prizes: a studio recording session with a Recording Academy producer, a live performance showcase series opening for a noted artist, or a music video filmed with a celebrated director.

“It takes a whole lot of passion, commitment and conviction to put yourself out there, to enter a competition and to be judged,” says Hunt in a release. “There is no formula for making it in this business, but American Bombshell, Kirby and Adley have been given a tremendous opportunity to learn and grow as musicians. There’s absolutely nothing that gives us more pleasure than to be a part of an initiative like the Grammy Amplifier program, that gives these aspiring talents opportunities that will help them to develop their crafts.”

“What an immeasurable honor," Stump adds. "I am so thankful to the Grammys for front-running this initiative to recognize and foster independent talent. I couldn’t be more humbled to have been acknowledged; there is no better organization I could have wished to learn from and grow not only as an artist, but as a person and a member of the creative community I love so much."

Stump, a country artist, was eliminated in the Battle Rounds of The Voice in 2012 when she faced RaeLynn, but she left an impression on fans. Her most recent EP Like This was released in May 2015 and drew attention as "New and Noteworthy" on iTunes. She's currently working on a new EP, the first single and video of which is slated to release in April. She’s currently based in Nashville and has been playing around town, but after receiving the Grammy Amplifier honor she will be headed out for a showcase at SXSW. She also plans to go on a national tour later this year.

The Grammy Amplifier Award recipients are selected by curators like Hunt after being narrowed down to 10 finalists by votes from friends, family and fans. The mentorship program helps artist hone their skills and develop their platform, guiding them toward success in the music business.

Hunt performed at the Grammy Awards recently with Carrie Underwood, and he was also nominated for two awards at the event — Best Country Album and Best New Artist.
