Reba McEntire Giving an Anxious Dustin Lynch CMA Advice Is Presh! [Watch]
Dustin Lynch has a Texas-sized crush on Reba McEntire, so when an opportunity came for him to interview her prior to the 2017 CMA Awards, he couldn't say no. Seriously, he couldn't — we sort of forced it on him.
This isn't to say Lynch didn't own being an interviewer. The "I'd Be Jealous Too" singer asked for advice on how he should handle being a presenter at Wednesday night's awards show, admitting that he has butterflies. From there the adorable duo talked about Reba's rowdy touring past (kind of) and she told a story from her days hosting the CMA and ACM Awards (she's hosting CMA Country Christmas this year).
This once-in-a-lifetime moment came during Day 2 of the CMA remote broadcasts, where two dozen radio and media outlets talked to stars one-on-one in advance of the big show. Taste of Country interviewed nearly 60 artists, including Lynch. As he was walking out, McEntire was walking in, so it only made sense for him to take lead, as her biggest fan. An astonishingly nervous Lynch agreed, but asked ToC's Billy Dukes to be his wingman.
McEntire is set to perform "Legends" with Kelsea Ballerini at the 2017 CMA Awards, and as it turns out. she'll present the Entertainer of the Year award, too. There is also a special opening number that features dozens of stars of today and yesterday, but no one would spill a single detail other than to say that Eddie Montgomery is a part of it, and Lady Antebellum admitting they're one of the lesser-known acts who'll be on the stage.
