Last week (October 5), Frankie Ballard made a surprise visit to Nashville's Title 1 elementary school, where he presented an unsuspecting school teacher with an award and $1,000 worth of school supplies in support of OfficeMax's national A Day Made Better event.

Ballard presented the gifts to teacher Josh Wright at McGavock Elementary, which included a computer printer, a digital camera, a new desk chair and other essential materials that the class would need throughout the school year, thanks to the country singer and OfficeMax.

The donation served as a special thank you to the teacher for going above and beyond the call of duty to deliver the best possible education to his students year after year. Each year, school teachers spend an average of $1,000 in out-of-pocket expenses to provide for their students.

Ballard is currently out on the road opening select shows for Darius Rucker. The guitar slinger recently posted a new video to his YouTube channel where he combined one of his own tunes, 'Single Again,' with a song from the former Hootie and the Blowfish lead singer, 'Only Wanna Be With You.'
