WE Fest 2016 — the biggest event in Detroit Lakes, Minn. — is just around the corner. Eric Church, Kid Rock and Tim McGraw will headline the three-day camping and music festival, and as if that wasn't enough, the supporting acts are just as impressive. This year for their 35th anniversary they're throwing one heck of an anniversary party, and you're invited. Check out our 11 Reasons to Get to WE Fest in 2016 list and get inspired before you head to Minnesota!
WE Fest takes place in Detroit Lakes, Minn., and the location is charming. It sits on the scenic Soo Pass Ranch on the shores of Lake Sallie, which is gorgeous. If you've never been to Minnesota, now is the perfect chance.
The Walk of Fame
How many music festivals have a Walk of Fame? WE Fest does! For more than 30 years artists have left their handprints in cement for festivalgoers to check out after they dry. Go walk through them and put your hands where Miranda Lambert put hers last year.
The Main Stage
The main stage of WE Fest sees the biggest names the festival has to offer, but it also has incredible sound. In the last few years, the festival updated the entire sound system — you've got to hear it to believe it!
Kid Rock will headline WE Fest 2016 on Aug. 5, and he'll be bringing a whole lot of energy. He's one of the most engaging performers around, with songs like "Picture," "Cowboy" and “Bawitdaba” coming with him to the event next month.
If you want to fully experience WE Fest, you've got to camp out with fellow festivalgoers. WE Fest campers come in all ages and all camping styles but they all have one thing in common: a love for country music. WE Fest also boasts one of the most sprawling campsites of all music festivals.
There are many ways to enjoy the VIP treatment at WE Fest. The 30 & over/family campgrounds even have a VIP section just behind the stage! The shower house is an added bonus. Want VIP seating? They are front and center of the stage. Nothing better!
Hear About 2017 First
If you're an attendee at the 2016 WE Fest, you'll hear about the 2017 festival headliners before anyone else. The fest keeps getting bigger and better every year, so you'll definitely want to hear about 2017 — and buy tickets — before the general public.
Whether you enjoy people watching or making new friends, WE Fest is perfect for both. The fans are excited and you may find a new best bud to yell "YEE YEE!" with while Granger Smith — sorry, Earl Dibbles Jr. — plays.
If anybody knows how to put on a show, it's Eric Church. If you're at WE Fest 2016, you'll get a chance to see him and his rockin' band put on one hell of a live performance. You don't want to miss it.
Tim McGraw knows a thing or two about success, and one of the reasons he's found it is his live concerts. He's been making music — and hits — for two decades. And if you're lucky, you may get a glimpse of those abs he works so hard on.
