In the past couple of years, Jelly Roll has become a household name across America. Everywhere the country star goes, people are clamoring for a chance to get some face time with him.

But if you do, you might not want to refer to him as Jelly Roll.

What Jelly Roll Prefers to Be Called in Public

In speaking to Jelly Roll on Taste of Country Nights on Demand, we got to talking about what it's like for him to go out in public, to just do regular things.

"I get stopped everywhere, but everybody's cool."

I then asked if how people refer to him; is it Mr. Roll, Jelly, Jelly Roll or Jason?

"I think people call me Jelly, if you know me, or feel like you know me, you call me Jelly. I respond better to Jelly than Jelly Roll. If you say Jelly Roll, I kinda go, 'Aww sh-t.'"

"But if somebody goes, 'Hey Jelly!' I think they know me. Delete the Roll, man."

Does Jelly Roll Get Recognized in Public?

Jelly —since he doesn't want us saying Jelly Roll — spilled the beans on aisle 2 and let us in on his secret grocery spot.

The "Son of a Sinner" singer said, "I have a grocery store by my house that I go into that everybody is super-sweet. It is really, really cool. I love grocery shopping, too. And they'll stop me and say hi, but nobody asks me for a picture, everybody is just really, really, really cool."

Jelly Roll continued gushing about his local grocery store.

"They treat me like a neighbor. They all know I live in that little community, so it's more like, they talk about cool neighbor stuff. Like, 'Did you hear about such and such's farm selling? Or, what about that storm that knocked down a tree?' Cool sh-t, ya know?"

If you're out at a Jelly Roll concert, or see him in the streets, make sure you refer to him as just Jelly; you will have a better chance at getting his attention.
