Unlike almost every other award at the 2012 ACM Awards, fans can help decide the winner of the New Artist of the Year Award. That means it's not just a matter of who had the best 2011, but who can rally their fans to vote.

Scotty McCreery would seemingly have an advantage at the 47th annual event, as fans literally voted him into our social conscious last year on 'American Idol.' However, a recent Taste of Country poll indicates that Brantley Gilbert fans are not going to give up on the award easily. Hunter Hayes also has a good shot, having appeared on multiple nationally televised television shows and winning the hearts of many young fans -- especially females.

Click the button below to see which artist has the best shot at taking home the trophy on April 1 and to vote in our readers poll. You can place your official vote for one of these three artists at www.VoteACM.com.
