Blake Shelton takes his fans on a journey through time in the new video for his current single, "I Lived It." Shelton gives fans a glimpse into his own childhood in the video, which evokes a sense of yearning for a simpler time when the world seemed easier.

The video begins with Shelton walking down on old dirt country lane, where he's revisiting old memories as he explores the simple farmhouse where he grew up. Shelton pictures himself as a young boy running in front of the barn, and again as a young man hauling hay when he comes across an old pickup truck under a cover.

The scenes use actors of different ages to portray the younger versions of Shelton as he looks back on the simple, happy life he led there, but his actual younger self makes an appearance, too, in an effective scene in which a picture of Shelton as a teenager in enormous glasses appears in the road behind him, seeming to symbolize those days literally fading away right before his eyes as he looks back on them. Old film footage of Shelton also flashes by as he stares out at the lake and remembers good times spent there.

Three Times Gwen Stefani Shaped Blake Shelton's New Album

Ashley Gorley, Ben Hayslip, Rhett Akins and Ross Copperman co-wrote "I Lived It," which is the second single from Shelton's current album, Texoma Shore. The tune is reminiscent of some of Shelton's earlier work with its simple acoustic bed track and lyrics that serve as an elegy to a simpler time and place.

"Oh, you think I'm talking crazy / In a different language you might not understand / Oh, that's alright / That's just the kind of life that made me who I am / Just taking my mind on a visit / Back in time 'cause I miss it / You wouldn't know to love it like I love it unless you lived it / And man, I lived it," Shelton sings in the chorus.

The first single from Texoma Shore, "I'll Name the Dogs," gave Shelton his 25th No. 1 hit in December of 2017. The superstar is currently out on the road on his Country Music Freaks Tour, which is set to run through March. Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and Trace Adkins join the tour as support acts.
