Miranda Lambert has tamed Blake Shelton, but she hasn't taken away his manhood. In a recent cover feature for Redbook, Shelton opened up about how marriage and domesticity agree with both he and his wife. She even has him watching cheesy TV shows like 'Say Yes to the Dress.'

Since the couple isn't often at home -- things like touring, promoting singles and coaching on 'The Voice' tear the Lambert and Shelton away from their domicile -- they tend to revel in and cherish their time away from the spotlight. The famous duo enjoys those moments, since they are infrequent.

So what's "alone at home" time like for Lambert and Shelton? Well, the 'Honey Bee' singer recounted that the very morning of his interview, Lambert cooked breakfast. He said, "It’s the stupid things that a lot of people wouldn’t think twice about that are a big deal for us. So when we’re home, she’s very domestic, and I am too, as long as it’s not deer season."

That domesticity includes, according to Shelton, "doing laundry while watching 'Good Morning America' or 'Say Yes to the Dress,' or Miranda cooking dinner for me and me telling her how good it is – those kinds of things are a major big deal for us."

Really -- 'Say Yes to the Dress'! We guess that what's on the boob tube is secondary, since it means the two are together. Despite those lighthearted moments, Shelton takes marriage seriously and said he'd go down swinging for his wife, proving he's a true romantic at heart. About the institution of marriage, he mused, "I think you’ve got to be confident and a bit of a pushover. Obviously, you’ve got to be a loyal person. I’m never going to listen to someone trash my wife. I think you have to be willing to take a bullet for somebody if you’re going to stand up there, take your vows, and be married to them for the rest of your life."

The singer did joke that his wife "has probably tamed me a bit," but it's not like she is turning him into someone he's not, or vice versa. In the end, they married because they bring out the best in one another. While Shelton asserted that he's 35 and at an age where people to naturally calm down in their lives, he believes his wife fully complements him.

"I think a lot of it has to do with feeling settled and lucky to have ended up with the person I really wanted to be with," he said about this stage of his life. "To me, that’s being tamed in the best possible way. You just say to yourself, ‘I’m done, I’m thrilled, I couldn’t be any happier.’ Miranda would never want to tame me into being somebody I’m not, and I would never try to do that to her."

Sounds like this is one celebrity marriage that is going to last!
