The iconic house that served as the main setting for TV's Full House is up for sale, and pictures show an upscale property that's very different from what viewers saw on television.

The historic home in San Francisco is a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom, 3,737-square-foot Victorian home that was originally built in 1883. It has been fully renovated in recent years, and the spectacular interior of the famed Tanner residence from the beloved sitcom looks remarkably different from what fans of the show might expect.

As Architectural Digest points out, that's because the house on Broderick Street in San Francisco was used as the exterior of the Tanner's TV home, but the interior shots were actually a series of television sets at Warner Bros. Studio in Los Angeles.

  • Full House ran for eight seasons on ABC, from 1987-1995.
  • The show made stars of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Bob Saget, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin, Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin and more.
  • Many of the stars reprised their roles on Fuller House from 2016-2020.

Famed architect Charles Lewis Hinkel built the house in 1883, and world-renowned architect Richard Landry handled the renovations in 2019.

The main floor includes a spacious living room with a fireplace, a fully modernized chef's kitchen with high-end appliances and a common area.

The upper floor of the luxurious residence is an all-inclusive primary suite with oversized windows, a gas fireplace, a walk-in closet, attached master bathroom and a window alcove. There's also a children's room and a guest bedroom that overlooks the back garden.

The lower level includes a full bathroom, a walk-in closet, a den, a wet bar and a laundry room, while the garage also offers workout facilities.

The exterior of the home features an English garden in the back, with outdoor dining and lounging areas and a firepit surrounded by carefully sculpted hedges that offer quiet and privacy.

Rachel Swann from Coldwell Banker Realty holds the listing on the home from Full House. The asking price of $6.5 million breaks down to $1,739 per square foot and a monthly payment of $44,122.
