Mother Nature was the cause of Jake Owen being forced to cancel the concert at his annual hometown charity event that was held over the weekend in Vero Beach, Fla. But Owen didn't let the heavy rain ruin the fun to be had. The singer quickly came up with Plan B: throwing an impromptu performance at the Riverside Cafe, rather than the outdoor Holman Stadium, where it was originally set to take place.

Owen is no stranger to the Riverside Cafe. During his college days, Owen could often be found on that very stage singing his original tunes for the patrons who filtered in and out of there on Sunday afternoons.

Owen's labelmate, Chris Young, was also on hand to entertain the crowds who came in from all over as part of the sixth annual event. Owen and Young sang well into the wee hours of the night for a standing room only crowd who were thrilled to see them in an up close and personal setting.

The concert was the final portion of Owen's charity event, in which the singer teams up with his high school friend (and tennis star) Mardy Fish. Proceeds raised from the Mardy's Tennis and Jake's Music Fest go directly to a cause near and dear to Owen's heart, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, as well as children's athletic and music programs in their hometown.
