Johnny Cash Cameos on ‘The Simpsons’

Producers of The Simpsons would later call Johnny Cash's appearance as the mystical coyote one of the greatest coups they ever pulled off. The episode -- 'The Mysterious Voyage of Homer' -- first aired in 1997. In it, Homer eats multiple insanity peppers at a chili festival and embarks on a wild hallucination in the desert. Cash's coyote comes down from the sky and instructs Homer to "Find your soul mate." This leads to Homer questioning his marriage before he causes a ship to wreck on the shores of Springfield. Of course, by the end, his marriage is saved and everything returns to normal.
