Juice Newton first recorded the No. 89 entry on our Top 100 Country Love Songs countdown for her 1976 debut album with her Silver Spur backup band, but the track remained an obscure album cut until it was re-recorded and released as a single on her 1981 career-launching solo album, 'Juice.'

'The Sweetest Thing (I've Ever Known)' quickly became Newton's top charting single, later marking her first No. 1 on the country charts in 1982. The track also reached No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary and the Top 10 on the pop chart -- the only single from the singer to climb to the upper reaches on all three charts.
