Miranda Lambert's "Tin Man" finds the singer in absolute despair, swearing off love as her heart is in pieces. The song — track No. 1 on "The Heart" side of The Weight of These Wings — is a heartbreaker that's easy to imagine being about ex-husband Blake Shelton.

The singer co-wrote the song with Jack Ingram and Jon Randall. She's talking to the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, a character who was in search of a heart. Lambert tries to talk him out of it.

"Hey there Mr. Tin Man / You don’t know how lucky you are / You shouldn’t spend your whole life wishing / For something bound to fall apart," she sings to start the ballad. "Every time you’re feeling empty / Better thank your lucky stars / If you ever felt one breaking / You’d never want a heart."

Lambert has said she'd use some of the painful moments of her last two years of life for songs on the new album, her sixth overall. "Use My Heart" and "To Learn Her" are two others that recall the end of a relationship or the inability to love again. The Weight of These Wings covers a variety of topics, including new love. "Pushin' Time" is a hesitant love song performed with boyfriend Anderson East.

"By the way there Mr. Tin Man / If you don’t mind the scars / You give me your armor / You can have my heart," she sings at the end of "Tin Man."

Shelton and Lambert divorced in July 2015 after four years of marriage. Neither one has shared what led to the breakup, but both have found new partners — Lambert with East and Shelton with Gwen Stefani. The Weight of These Wings was released on Friday (Nov. 18).
