Skylar Laine Proves ‘The Show Must Go On’ + Strums to ‘Tattoos on This Town’ on ‘American Idol’
'American Idol' Season 11 country hopeful Skylar Laine did it again. She turned in a flawless pair of performances.
First, she sang Queen's 'The Show Must Go On' during tonight's (April 25) performance episode. Once again, Laine offered up her masterful mix of robust, country-meets-rock. While we are used to seeing her stomp around the stage and literally come to life as she performs, she went for subdued and sublime for parts of her performance. But, her lack of movement didn't mute or blunt any of her firecracker voice.
Wearing a spaghetti strap, short pink dress, Laine nailed the big notes, which is always extra challenging when you are, you know, singing a Freddie Mercury song. Laine is excellent at articulating lyrics and the mood of the songs she sings and she did just that with 'The Show Must Go On.'
It gave judge Jennifer Lopez "goosies," which is her cute nickname for goosebumps or gooseflesh.
For her personal choice, she sang Jason Aldean's 'Tattoos on This Town' while strumming a guitar. Yet again, Laine left her mark on us and is leaving an indelible tattoo on 'Idol' with her solid performances. She never, ever disappoints. Somebody get this girl a recording contract and an opening spot on a Brad Paisley or a Tim McGraw tour.
Something tells us the show will go on for Skylar Laine and she'll pole-vault herself into the Top 5. Is Skylar Laine Season 11's dark horse? Could she nab the 'Idol' baton from Season 10's Scotty McCreery and make it back-to-back country wins? She is a top notch performer and always has a good time on that stage.
