After seven long years, Dwight Yoakam is finally resurfacing with a new studio album titled '3 Pears.' The new collection of tunes is set to hit stores on Tuesday, Sept. 18 on Warner Bros. Records.

When Dwight Yoakam moved to Nashville to start a music career, his hillbilly twang wasn’t favored by the industry. Yoakam headed to Los Angeles, where he wrote original material and played his tunes at rock and punk clubs.

Dwight Yoakam was slated to play the part of the villain in the upcoming film 'The Lone Ranger,' but he has just walked away from the role due to conflicts in his schedule. The film -- which has a celebrity cast of Johnny Depp as the American Indian Tonto, Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger and Tom Wilkinson as the evil railroad tycoon Latham Cole -- will still go on without him.

Dwight Yoakam has returned to his musical home in Nashville at Warner Music Group to record new music. The multi-platinum selling singer, songwriter, actor and director first signed with the label group's Reprise Records, where he released his debut album, 'Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.,' in 1986.
