Is a new 'The Story of Us' being written in Taylor Swift's mind right now? She reportedly went on a dinner date with former 'High School Musical' star Zac Efron, but don't be so quick to believe the tabloids.

Details have emerged of a dinner that Swift, 22, shared with Efron, 24, at an outdoor corner table at Italian grubbery Pace, which is located in Los Angeles. The dinner took place Jan. 6, but we're only just hearing about it. Swift and Efron are said to have arrived at the eatery together in his Audi. Normally, stars tend to enter restaurants and clubs via separate entrances to throw the paparazzi off their scent, but Swift and Efron arrived together and didn't even try a hide it.

Sources told Us Weekly that Swift and Efron were "deep in conversation" and "very giggly" while sharing their meal. They also enjoyed the menu offerings at Pace earlier in the week with Justin Bieber.

A source shot down the nascent relationship rumors, saying that the two were working on promotional efforts for their film, 'Dr. Seuss' The Lorax,' and were doing "press stuff together and after they were done, they decided to grab dinner."

A source close to Efron said that he and Swift have been friends forever, and another insider said that while Swift thinks he's "cute," she's not going there, because "they are on totally different wavelength."

Sounds like it was more of a dinner than a date.
