The country music community is known for being one big family, but the genre's female artists, in particular, are all about supporting each other. It’s not surprising, then, that Miranda Lambert is looking out for emerging artist Tenille Townes.

The Canadian singer opened for Lambert and Little Big Town on their joint Bandwagon Tour in 2018, and Townes says that Lambert has "been so kind to me." She recently shared a heartwarming story about how the country superstar made her feel welcome.

"It was my very first tour and night on a bus, first time playing an amphitheater, last summer," Townes recalls. "She ran to Target and got me this duffel bag filled with goodies and said, 'These are your tour bus essentials.'"

Not only did the goodie bag include things that would help Townes care of herself on the road, it also included a handwritten note that made her cry. "She’s incredible," Townes adds of her former tour boss.

Townes has grabbed attention from the Nashville community with her latest single, "Somebody’s Daughter." She's just starting out, so it's a big encouragement to have one of the genre's biggest stars in her corner.

“We’ve had a couple of moments where we’ve had heart-to-heart chats and just telling me she’s there for me if I ever need anything," Townes shares of her relationship with Lambert, "and that means the world to me coming from her."

They'll be on the road together again in the fall of 2019, for Lambert's Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour. The trek also features Maren Morris, Elle King, Pistol Annies, Ashley McBryde and Caylee Hammack.
