‘The Voice': Pyror Baird and Kaleb Lee Bring Hillbilly Vibes on Set
Fans of good ol' fashioned redneck country were likely in heaven Monday night (May 14) watching the semifinals on The Voice. The eight remaining contestants on the show were paired up to sing special song “mashups," as well as a meaningful solo on their respective own.
The best dose of country came from the pairing of Team Kelly Clarkson's Kaleb Lee with Team Blake Shelton's Pryor Baird—both singers being the bar-room-vibed representatives of the season. The two took on a mashup of Shelton's 2011 hit with Trace Adkins "Hillbilly Bone" and Brooks & Dunn's "Hillbilly Deluxe." Lee handled the Shelton tune, while Baird chimed in with the B&D, and the combination was as smooth as two gritty vocalists could achieve.
The two singers furthered their path down the semifinals with their solos: Lee tearing up with his family before his version of the hymn "It is Well With My Soul"; and Baird handling "Change the World" by Eric Clapton and admitting it was his favorite song to perform from the competition to date.
Which of the two artists will make it through the next cut? We'll all find out tomorrow (May 15) on a special episode of The Voice, which will also include a performance from Shelton as well as rising country star Kane Brown.
