Country Babies Born in 2013
Country music repopulated in 2013, with almost a dozen babies born to some of the biggest singers and songwriters in the genre. Dierks Bentley, Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum and Garth Brooks all welcomed new members of the family, and many shared adorable pictures from the new babes’ first days. It will be awhile before we know if anyone got the country gene, but it seems promising. See a full list of all country babies born in 2013.
Ryker Mobley Brice
Lee Brice and new wife Sarah welcomed their second son on Dec. 4. Ryker Mobley Brice was born healthy and happy, joining older brother Takoda, 4. “A week ago I didn’t think I could be any happier," the singer shared after baby's birth. "I was wrong. Our brand new baby boy Ryker Mobley Brice was born healthy, My heart is full.” The announcement was made just days after Brice learned he'd received two Grammy nominations.
Jett Barker Liles
Love and Theft singer Stephen Barker Liles helped his fiancee welcome Jett into the world on December 2. The babe came at a healthy 7-pounds, 7-ounces and measured 20 inches long. "It was the greatest rush I have ever experienced! Jenna and I are so thrilled to be parents. It’s the best thing that has happened to us,” Dad shared. This is the second baby for Love and Theft in 2013, as Eric Gunderson and his wife Emily welcomed a son in March.
Jaxon Creed Anderson
Singer Keith Anderson and his wife Lauren welcomed Jaxon Creed Anderson into the world on November 13, but waited a couple of weeks to share the news with friends and fans. Anderson is excited to have another baby -- Jaxon joins two-year-old sister, Crozie -- but he's exhausted. "I am SO SLEEP DEPRIVED!! I’m actually asleep right now as I’m typing this!….zzzzzzz,” he writes.
Parsons and River Crow
Texas singer Bart Crow's wife, Brooke, delivered twins on November 21. That makes three boys under three for the happy couple. While there were some complications during pregnancy, the birth was trouble-free! “We are all here alive & healthy & for that we thank our Father God & His Son, Our Savior Jesus,” Crow told Taste of Country. “And to all our family, fans, & friends, thank you for your overwhelming love, thoughts, & prayers!!” It took a little while for the couple to decide on names, but they ultimately went with Roman Parsons and River Van Coleman.
After two girls, Dierks Bentley and his wife Cassidy welcomed their first boy on Oct. 9. Knox Bentley makes it a family of five for the 'I Hold On' singer. “Well… our boy Knox is here! About to have the best tasting cold beer of my life! So proud of my wife. She rocked it. Crazy stuff,” Bentley tweeted. Knox joins older sisters Evie, 5, and Jordan, 2. “Mad respect for doctors, nurses and everyone at hospitals. Can’t believe y’all do that day in and day out,” the singer added following his announcement. “Hard work making miracles happen.”
Jake Robert Laird
Songwriter Luke Laird ('So Small,' 'Temporary Home,' Somebody's Heartbreak,' 'Drink in My Hand') welcomed a little boy on Sept. 9. Jake Robert Laird weighed in at 8-pounds, 7-ounces, and the proud papa was more than happy to share photos of the happy family immediately after the delivery. "I feel so blessed and am so proud of @therealtoofpick! God is good!" he tweeted, referring to his wife, Beth.
Garth Brooks met his first grandchild in July, as middle daughter August Anna Brooks delivered baby Karalynn on July 23. The 19-year-old tweeted photos, in addition to pasting them on her Facebook page. The father is boyfriend Chance Michael Russell. “Our family would first like to thank everyone for their warm wishes and sweet celebration of Baby K’s arrival," Brooks said in a statement.
Eisele Kaye Tyrrell
Country music's most anticipated baby of the year came in July, when Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott delivered Eisele Kaye Tyrrell. She arrived on July 22, with Scott making the announcement around 3PM ET. The name is pronounced "eyes-lee" and is a combination of Tyrrell's mother's maiden name and Scott's mother's middle name. The "incredibly gorgeous" little girl weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces at birth. Scott has since tweeted multiple photos, including this adorable one from Halloween.
Elijah Craig Walker
Clay Walker welcomed his fifth child, a boy named Elijah Craig Walker, in June. The singer tweeted the news on Father's Day, revealing that the special present weighed 7.8 pounds at birth. Jessica and Clay have two other kids, and the singer has two children with his first wife. Fans didn't know of the pregnancy for very long. Walker announced it by showing up with a glowing, very pregnant wife at the ACM Awards in April.
Georgia McClain Ashley
Jared Ashley's baby girl came just in time for Father's Day. The singer and his wife Taylor welcomed Georgia McClain to the world on June 9. She checked in at 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and is as healthy as can be. “This whole process has been and continues to be such an amazing experience,” Ashley told Country Weekly. “I never imagined I could love someone so much in an instant. I just pray she grows up to look like her mother!” Both parents are from Georgia, hence the name.
George and Everett Wright
Chely Wright and her wife's identical twin boys were born on May 18. Wright delivered George Samuel and Everett Joseph in New York City two months before their July due date. This didn't surprise the singer, however -- she'd mentioned upon announcing the babes that twins typically come early. “We are grateful for all the amazing medical care and the love and support of family and friends,” Wright said. Added Blitzer-Wright on Twitter, “We are so in love with George & Everett!” The country singer has shared many photos on Twitter, including this one.
Camden William Gunderson
Eric Gunderson of Love and Theft helped his wife give birth to Camden William on March 10, two months before the little guy's due date. This meant an extended stay in the NICU, but everyone was said to be doing well after the arrival. Emily and the singer married in 2010 and shared the news of their pregnancy in November 2012.
Daniel Emanuel Gokey
Danny Gokey and wife Leyicet welcomed their first baby on January 20. Daniel Emanuel Gokey was actually born on his due date, at 9:52PM ET to be exact. The couple shared the news with People, revealing that the healthy boy weighed nearly nine pounds at birth. "Leyicet and I are overjoyed to welcome the new member of our family," the singer said. "I’m ecstatic to be a first-time dad and to have a new little buddy to hang out with.” The Gokeys were married on Jan. 29, 2012.
