Blake Shelton Takes ‘Over’ the No. 1 Slot on Country Singles Chart Again
This week, Blake Shelton returns to the top of the country singles chart with his seventh-consecutive No. 1 hit, 'Over.' The tune is the fourth release from his current album, 'Red River Blue,' which has also spawned the chart-topping 'Honey Bee,' 'God Gave Me You' and 'Drink on It.'
Shelton couldn't wait to fill his fans in on the good news. Over the weekend, he took to his Twitter page to tease his followers about some important news he was anxious to share. After getting the green light, Shelton was over the top (no pun intended) with excitement.
"Yeeee Haawww!!!!" he tweeted after the news was announced. "I love this!!"
Since its release, country radio, as well as Shelton's fans and media peers, knew the song was a hit, not only because of the singer's amazing delivery, but also because of the talented songwriters responsible for penning it -- Paul Jenkins and David Elliott Johnson. Jenkins has been all over the charts in recent months, writing songs for artists like Jason Aldean ('Don't You Wanna Stay') and Thompson Square ('I Got You'), among others.
