Chris Young, who's nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Male Country Performance this year, has spent the last few months having a blast opening for Rascal Flatts on their Nothing Like This Tour. But recently, he had an embarrassing onstage moment he would probably like to forget.

Last summer, he played a lot of fairs and festivals, where there was always plenty of natural sun light. Since it is winter now, all of his shows have been indoors -- and that made for a funny mishap for Young.

"I wasn’t used to the fact of how dark it was on stage ,and where Joe Don [Rooney] left his pedal board, so I’m walkin’ across the stage and I stepped right on his gain pedal," he admits. "So all of a sudden it was just like ridiculously loud and he’s starin’ at me goin’, ‘Smooth. That was good, man.'"

The 'Voices' singer continues touring with Rascal Flatts through March, and then will join Blake Shelton for a few stops on his 2011 All About Tonight Tour. The country star will also attend the CMA Songwriter Series in Los Angeles on Feb. 15 at Club Nokia.
